Athletics is one of the 4 pillars of the Kiniya Program, along with Arts, Outdoors and Spirituality. At Kiniya we use athletics to help instill teamwork and sportsmanship in our community. At Kiniya, there are two components to our Athletic program: team competition and majors.
Campers are placed on teams within their division. Most days, teams will be scheduled to compete in one of the following sports: basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball.
Majors are another key component to the athletics program at Kiniya. Each camper has the opportunity to select one Athletic Major to focus on throughout their time at Camp. They will meet approximately twice a week focusing on skill development and an increased level of competency.
Majors typically include:
- Team Sports
- Fitness – Fitness is available to older divisions only and focuses on training for upcoming sports season. Activities often including core strengthening, yoga, running, sprints, and more!
Despite what Major you participate in, each camper will still be exposed to each of the activities listed above.
